Harriet Miers!

Harriet Miers has just recieved the bid for Sandra Day O'Connors' Replacement on the Supreme Court of the United States.
Miers, a Texas native, studied at Southern Methodist University, where she earned undergraduate and law degrees. She was an attorney in private practice until 2000 and was George W. Bush’s personal lawyer. In 1985, she became the first female president of the Dallas Bar Association and in 1992 became the first woman to head the Texas State Bar. She was also elected to one term as an at-large member on the Dallas City Council.
I am catching hints of more cronyism...but I'm cautiously optimistic. In any case, don't expect the leftists to show any civility just because she's female. I'll have more on this matter later...for now, you can find alot at Stop the ACLU.
I'll leave you with this... Without the long judicial history that would've come with an acting judge, it'll be alot harder to fight her nomination.

*UPDATE*
It seems that the LEFT is concerned that Miers is not a "scary conservative" from what I am hearing on the news. They're nervous. Good.
Even though she's an unknown, I have a good feeling about her. Scalia in a dress. I'm probably kidding myself, though...but one can hope.
My infuriation with this pick has nothing to do with Miers...I don't know her. It has more to do with the appearance of weakness shown by our president. We are winning. Conservativism is pulling way ahead and the left would make themselves obselete if Bush would've appointed an unabashed, unashamed conservative.
On a good note, I am hearing that Harriet Miers was instrumental in Bush's appointing of P. Owen to the courts. This could be a very good sign.
