William Hubbs Rehnquist dead at 80.

After a long, drawn-out illness, Chief Justice Wm. Hubbs Rehnquist has passed away today, Saturday the 3rd day of September, 2005.
Justice Rehnquist started his tenure on the High Court in the seventies, where he stood out as the "Lone Dissenter". A strong Constitutionalist, he centered his judicial philosophy on the strict reading and interpretation of the Constitution of the United States of America. He never deviated from his duty as a Supreme Court Justice to see that Congress passed no law that it did not have the Constitutional authority to pass.
Forever burned into our minds is the indelible image of the Chief Justice making his way down the stairs on that cold morning to inaugurate President Bush, after many had speculated that his health wouldn't permit him to even walk. That's just how seriously he took his job.
Rest in Peace Chief Justice William Hubbs Rehnquist... Statesman, Patriot, loving husband and devoted father. May God bless the Rehnquist family, May God bless America.

It has been discussed on the right-side of the bloggosphere and on conservative talk radio for some time (moderately after '00, primarily since the '04 elections) that the Democtratic party is soon to implode. Is it going to happen? Likely so, at least if things continue along the lines that they are.
Hurricane Katrina... possibly the worst natural disaster in American History. The Leftist faction of the Democratic party wasted no time losing sympathy for the victims of this great disaster in order to make sure to point out that somehow, in some way, Bush and the rest of the conservatives in the U.S. are to blame for the whole situation. With outrageous statements on the Daily Kos website, Air America radio, and many, many other bastions of Liberal-itis such as "this is just payback for supporting Bush and the neo-cons", along with countless other times in different words that this has been said, one has to wonder, is this for real? The answer... absolutely. Anything they can say to jab at Bush, his policies, his supporters, Republicans, etc. they are willing to take it...nothing is taboo, you can't stoop too low. Just try to confront them with the fact that the elected officials in New Orleans are top-to-bottom Democrat, and see if your post doesn't get deleted. The fact is that since at least Clinton, that area has 70% or better voted Dem. in every election. They are even turning on their own kind to accomplish their goal of non-stop hate spewing.
Now, if you read the speaches of the DNC and Democratic politicians, it sounds more and more like the arrogant, elitist, socialist propaganda spread at the Daily Kos, Democratic Underground, Moveon.org, and others every day. Mainstream America won't go along with this for long.
This brings me to my final Question... Who is the next "second party" after the Dems split? The Constitution Party? Libertarians? Who?

Have to do it...

Dr. Ernie Fletcher for President in '08!

I love what this guy stands for. Not just because he's my Governor, but because he was my US Senator, and I can back up my claims of his being right for the job with his record. http://www.issues2000.org/Ernie_Fletcher_VoteMatch.htm

I really think he stands the best shot at getting the nod. Lets take a look at the field.
First, I am going to cut the Senators. They just never fare well in Presidential elections.
Now to weed out the big players...
1- Giuliani- Talks like a New Yorker, that won't play in the south.
Also, is pro-choice, the base (me) doesn't like that at all. He is also pretty flimsy on alot of social issues... IMAO, the only thing that makes him a Republican is that he is a Reagan-esque optimist.
2- Sam Brownback. I like him, but he is a Senator, strike one. Other than that, he's an Ultra-conservative, and the Commitee knows that won't play in November.
3- Condi Rice...Please, spare me.
4-George Allen- Strong, but his shelf life will hurt him.

Living in the State of Kentucky I am exposed to Dr. Fletcher's ideas and policies. Before Gov. Fletcher came into the governorship, we went three of five years without even having a budget. That didn't last long under him. One year into a new House and Senate majority, we have more than a $180 million surplus. Being in a "Commonwealth", The Governor has had the experience of running the entire state government during the times that Rep. Jody Richards-D and the rest of the Dems in the house wouldn't allow a budget to be passed. (It is well understood that the only reason they pulled this stunt was because of Gov. Fletcher's tax modernization plan which would start bringing KY up to par with the rest of the similar states in the Union.) And, just so it is known, Dr. Fletcher is not a Lawyer, he is a honest-to-God Physician.

Guest Post... a lefty... you know, for balance.

Introducing: SRM. A lib of a lib if there ever was one. -M. Sheldon

I have just came back from a support group meeting, and boy am I upset. It seems that the "Sheeps for Shrubya" are at it again. They can't leave poor Mother Sheehan alone. As if she hasn't been through enough already, her son being killed by the False President of the US in an UNJUST war (Click here for more info). But now Mr. Qualls, whose son died butchering innocent schoolkids and peace loving non-Jews in the soveriegn country of Iraq for Dick Cheney's Halliburton, and Chimpy McBu$hHitler's big oil friends, (Click here for more info) are now pulling up the crosses put down by the brave progressyve ladies and members of the trans-gendered community that bear the names of all the innocent children who were murdered by Shrubya. Don't believe me? Just ask anyone who is in the "Democratic Opposition to Unethical Carnage Happening in Bagdad, and Afghanistan by George Shrubya." They'll tell ya. You can find most of them at the Daily Kos and DU. 'Til next time.-SRM
